The Cooper Associates Foundation has donated £5,000 to support ARK at Egwood, an amazing organisation which helps people to be actively, consistently and meaningfully engaged in their own lives regardless of their support needs.

Since being established, Acts of Random Kindness (ARK) is supporting a number of people with differing needs and ages, from people with mild learning disabilities, to those experiencing poor mental health and those recovering from brain injury. The youngest being 9 years of age and the oldest attendee being 72.

Many of the issues seen at ARK are mental health/wellbeing, social isolation, lacking in confidence, severe anxiety or recovery from injury/trauma. Through their amazing work, the team at ARK have helped numerous people regain their confidence, see a brighter future and successfully reintegrate back into society.

The coronavirus pandemic and lockdowns have had a greater impact on these individuals. Our donation will fund 200 additional sessions for users during 2021.

ARK is a land-based day facility at Egwood, near Merriott. On 12 acres of land, it comprises animals, horticulture and communal buildings, and offers a range of activities, experiences and support services to improve health, wellbeing and opportunities for all.

Nigel Bell, Director of ARK at Egwood, said:

“Thank you to the Cooper Associates Foundation for the generous grant towards ARK’s ongoing Therapeutic Volunteer project. This will enable ARK to continue providing free support sessions to those in need and support them to once again become active members of their community.”

The Cooper Associates Foundation is always looking for local charities and organisations to support. If you have a charity that is looking for funding we would be delighted to hear from you. Visit the Cooper Associates Foundation for more information.
