We are currently looking for a Paraplanner to join our Paraplanning team. This team is accountable for delivering a high level of professionalism to provide paraplanning service excellence to Financial Consultants within Cooper Associates Wealth Management. The correct client outcomes are the fundamental driver of the Paraplanning team and we strive to deliver an ‘only client’ experience, whilst meeting expectations and providing support to our Financial Consultants.

Key Objectives:

  • Loading new cases on the system
  • Writing off to the providers and collating the required ceding scheme information
  • Tracking the progress of cases and keeping Advisers up to date
  • Carrying out various CYC tests, Inheritance Tax calculations, ESS tests, TFC calculations and GAR/GMP tests
  • Writing fully compliant suitability letters
  • The submission of all cases to Business Assurance
  • Assisting BA with any remedial work
  • Closing off the case with the required Approval MemoAssist and support the team, your colleagues and the Company as required

You will need to demonstrate:

  • A high degree of personal motivation, organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload
  • A willingness to undertake exams to further your personal knowledge within the Financial Services industry
  • An excellent understanding of the wealth management industry, to include standard business processes

  • The ability to work closely with members of the team and management team

You will need the following knowledge and skills:

  • Familiarity with the Cooper Associates Wealth Management IT systems
  • Familiarity and an understanding of the relevant statutory compliance issues affecting the company including the FCA, GDPR and the Health and Safety at Work Act
  • Personable, presentable and punctual
  • 2 years’ client service experience within the Financial Services industry in a similar environment
  • A comprehensive knowledge of industry products and processes to enable you to deal and assist with complex cases
  • Excellent communication skills


  • Working towards CII qualifications.
