Cooper Associates Accountants are responsible for a varied portfolio of non-audit clients, across a range of industry sectors, including sole-traders, partnerships and limited companies. The client experience, internally and externally, is the fundamental driver of the Payroll & Bookkeeping support to the wider team.

You will be working closely with our Managing Director and Client Managers to liaise and develop professional relationships with our clients, ensuring we achieve positive results for them at all times.

Key Objectives:
• Adaptability to many roles as required in the growing accountancy business
• Work and report into the managers and director on a daily basis
• Responsible for completing clients’ payrolls, communicating with clients and ensuring all pay runs are correctly reported on time to HMRC
• Auto enrolment pension administration
• Calculating payroll deductions and statutory payments
• Assisting clients with payroll queries
• Completion of payroll year end on behalf of clients
• Assist clients in bookkeeping and ensuring VAT returns are completed on time for submission to HMRC
• Processing of client sales and purchase invoices accurately
• Processing of client bank payments and receipts accurately
• Raising and processing accurate and relevant journal entries
• Performing bank and control accounts reconciliations
• Assisting in accounts production work as required
• General administration duties in the office such as filing and database management
• Look for opportunities for new clients and referrals to the other Cooper Associates Group businesses

You will need the following knowledge and skills:
• Familiarity with the Cooper Associates IT systems
• Familiarity and an understanding of the relevant statutory compliance issues affecting the Company including the FCA, Data Protection Act and the Health and Safety at Work Act
• Personable, presentable and punctual
• Good communication skills

• AAT Level 3 desirable
